Ensuring Quality Care: PROPS Trial Team Visits Enrolled Participant at Home
Sylhet, 21 July 2026 —Today, Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed, Principal Investigator, Executive Director, and Scientist, along with Dr. Md. Saimon, Project Manager of the PROPS Trial, and Dipan Kumar Roy, Senior Field Research Officer, visited one of the enrolled participants in the PROPS study. The participant currently resides in Khadimpara, Tikor, Sylhet Sadar. As part of the PROPS trial, the assigned Community Health Worker (CHW) visits the participant's home daily for 28 days to administer the investigational product (IP); today was Day 15 visit.
During the visit, Dr. Salahuddin enquired about the baby's health and overall condition from the caregiver and observed the probiotic administration process conducted by the Community Health Worker. He also monitored the study procedures to ensure compliance with the trial protocol and provided supportive supervision to the field team.
The PROPS trial is currently being conducted in several upazilas and urban areas of Sylhet Division, including Chhatak, Companiganj, Gowainghat, Sylhet City Corporation, Sylhet Sadar, South Surma, Golapganj, and Zakiganj. Regular field monitoring visits are conducted across these study areas to ensure smooth implementation of the trial, monitor adherence to the study protocol, provide supportive supervision to field staff, and address operational challenges in a timely manner.
